About the Council

The Architecture Council was established in 2008 as a discussion platform for Switzerland’s schools of architecture. It provides a common forum for all of Switzerland’s universities and universities of applied sciences where architecture is taught, and for the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA), a professional association. The SIA also represents the interests of other associations and organisations.

The Architecture Council aims to harmonise architectural training in Switzerland, promote research, and act as a common platform to increase political awareness of architecture as a discipline.

Members of the Architecture Council represent their universities and are responsible for providing feedback and for the necessary discussions within their own institutions.

The President and Vice-President represent the interests of the Architecture Council both internally and externally, on the basis of a common agenda.
